Mr. Dillard was born January 8, 1914, in Lake County, Tennessee the son of Carl and Mary Ellen Wheatley Dillard, both deceased. He was married on May 28, 1938, in Kennett, MO. to Lois Bethel Kirkpatrick who survives.
A resident of Caruthersville, until moving to Jefferson City in 1991. Mr. Dillard was a 1930 graduate of Ridgely High School, Ridgely, Tennessee.
Dillard was a life long cotton farmer in the Caruthersville area until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the United Memorial Methodist Church in Caruthersville, MO., a member of the Missouri Cotton Producers Assn., a member of the Missouri Soybean Assn., a member of the American Rose Society, and a member of the Blytheville Rose Society, Blytheville, Arkansas.
After retirement, Mr. Dillard grew and showed roses.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lou Hendricks and her husband Cyril of Jefferson City, MO., one granddaughter, Megan Hendricks of Eagle River, Alaska, and one sister, Thelma Wilkerson of Deming, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda Hendricks.
Private graveside services and interment were at the Little Prairie Cemetery in Cruthersville, MO.
