Sharon Sue "Susie" Hart, was born on August 19, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, to Verlin and JoAnn (Miller) Jenkins and departed this earthly life on September 21, 2009 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO at 55 years of age.
Susie, as she was always known, grew up in the Ava community and attended Ava Public schools where she made many friends that she kept over her lifetime. She was outgoing, quick to laugh and smile, and never met a stranger. Her bright, beautiful blue eyes always sparkled both in friendship and mischief. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending various churches in the area.
Susie instilled many strong values in her children ranging from respect for others to respect for yourself. She truly lived the golden rule and her children and grandchildren carry that with them today.
On December 20, 1969, Susie was united in marriage to Mark Anthony Childress of Seymour, to which one child, Niki Leigh Childress, was born. Mark passed away in 1973.
On March 2, 1981, Susie married Sam Hart of Ava. Sam brought his son Lance Samuel Hart to this union and soon after, Misty Ann Hart, arrived to complete the family.
Susie contributed greatly to the Ava community in her profession. Both working for the Ava Place and Missouri Ozarks Community Health Center, she touched many lives with her compassion and willingness to help heal.
Susie was preceded in death by her father, Verlin Jenkins and her first husband, Mark Childress. She is survived by her husband, Sam Hart of Ava, her mother, JoAnn Jenkins also of Ava. Her children, Niki Childress Null and her husband Jared of Golden, MO, Misty Hart and James Ruark of Springfield, MO, and Lance and Kym Hart of Pamama City, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jade Null, Gage Null, Hailey Ruark, and Cole Hart. Brother Kenny Jenkins of Ava and his children Amie Rains and Tyler Jenkins, and sister Pam Gerleve and her husband Larry and their daughter, Ashley and her mother-in-law, Edna Bell Childress Walker all of Springfield, MO and a multitude of family and friends.
Funeral services for Susie will be Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Denney Cemetery. Visitation will be Wed., September 23, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Family requests memorials to Denney Cemetery or to the donor's choice of charity. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
