Norris Barnes of Caledonia, Missouri was born on Monday, January 13, 1936 in Onida, South Dakota a son of the late, Emma Anna (Galinet) Barnes and John Barnes. Norris departed this life on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of seventy-three years, seven months and nine days.

Norris was united in marriage to A. Louise Jensen on February 14, 1956 in Huron, South Dakota and were blessed with three children.

Norris is survived by his wife, A. Louise Barnes of Caledonia, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie Jamieson and husband, Brian of Caledonia, Missouri, Barbara Mattiolli of Ironton, Missouri; one son, Norris Dean Barnes and wife, Connie of Riverside, California; three sisters, Wanda Wicker and husband, Dennis of Chancellor, South Dakota, Wahnita Norton and husband, John of West Point, Nebraska, Wilma Seamen and husband, Jerry of Huron, South Dakota, six brothers, Marion Bruce "Mike" Barnes and wife, Gerri of Rapid City, South Dakota, Norman "Jack" Barnes and wife, Betty of Wolsey, South Dakota, Wendell Barnes and wife, Josie of Angels Camp, California, Wesley Barnes and wife, Peggy of Rapid City, South Dakota, Lee Barnes and wife, Julie of Huron, South Dakota, Randall Barnes and wife, Cindy of Huron, South Dakota; five grandchildren, Jason Mattioli, Brian Barnes and wife, Lia, Brent Barnes and wife, Lauren, Christine Mattiolli, Breanna Kirsch; four step-grandchildren, Stephen Nicolaus, Jeremy Nicolaus, Kayla Jamieson and Robert Jamieson; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Norris was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Barnes, nephew and close friend, Ron Barnes.

Norris operated Norris Barnes Construction Company and many local families enjoyed his craftsmanship throughout the local and leadbelt area. He loved talking about his carpentry skills to anyone and helping them with their projects. Norris lived to do carpentry jobs, even dreaming about it during his last days on Earth. He loved to sit and watch the humming birds.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM at the Caledonia United Methodist Church, Caledonia, Missouri with the Reverend Jim West officiating.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
