Services for Artie L. ABERNATHY Sr., 58, 706 Pam St, Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in Green Acres Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul POWELL officiating.

Additional services will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Boxwell Funeral Funeral Home in Perryton, Texas, with the Rev. Jack PEARCE officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton. Local arrangements are under direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler.

Mr. ABERNATHY died Saturday night in a Tyler hospital after a long illness.

He was a native of Childress, and lived in Tyler two years, where he was a salesman for McKinely Oil Co.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Marine Corps, was a Mason, and was a member of Oddfellows Lodge, and Green Acres Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Artie ABERNATHY Jr. of Marshall; two brothers, Holice ABERNATHY of Leveland and George ABERNATHY of Downey, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lowell McKINLEY, Dewey CLARK, Aubrey McCARTY, Bill MALCOLM and Henry FROST.
