Luetta "Lue" N. Bartlett, 100, of Henderson, passed away Sept. 22, 2009. She was born Oct. 14, 1908, in Akin, Ill., and was a 73-year resident of Nevada. Lue was a retired school teacher, moving here from Missouri in 1936. She started teaching school in a one-room school in Copper Canyon, south of Battle Mountain. Lue then moved to Lovelock for three years and back to Battle Mountain, where she taught for five years, before relocating to Henderson in 1948, where she taught grade school until she retired in 1970. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Bartlett. Lue is survived by her son, Everett Bartlett of Henderson; and granddaughter, Theresa Graziano of Pahrump. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, with services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, in Henderson.

A 73-year resident of Nevada, she was born Oct. 14, 1908, in Akin, Ill. She was a schoolteacher, moving to Nevada from Missouri in 1936. She began her Nevada career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Copper Canyon south of Battle Mountain. She moved between there, Lovelock and Battle Mountain before relocating to Henderson in 1948, where she taught grade school until she retired in 1970.

She was active with many gem and mineral clubs.

She is survived by her son, Everett Bartlett of Henderson and granddaughter Theresa Graziano of Pahrump.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, with services following at 11 a.m.
