Son of Sidney and Frances Etta Crenshaw Davis. Lived in Jones County, Mississippi in 1860. Was a CSA Veteran serving in the Co. K, 37th Mississippi Infantry Regiment. Was surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina, May 1865 with General Joseph E. Johnston. After the war, he married his first cousin Elizabeth Ann Crenshaw 31 Mar 1867 in Sumter County, Alabama. Father of ten children (see listed on Elizabeth's memorial). He owned the first general store in Grigsby.
