Funeral services for Elsmer (Buster) Fikes will be held at 10 am, Friday in Wilkirson and Hatch Funeral Chapel with Rev. William H. Davis and Rev. B. J. Witt Officiating.

Mr. Fikes died at 7:20 PM Wednesday in a local hospital following a long illness. He was 52 and lived at 3622 Colcord Avenue.

Mr. Fikes was born, reared and educated in Milam County, Texas. He married Miss Ruby C. Witt of Falls County in 1934. They moved to Waco a short time later.

Mr. Fikes worked with Mobil Oil Company for about 23 years. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Fikes; three daughters, Mrs. A. L. (Nancy) Everett, Jr. of 3508 North Twenty-third Street, Waco, Mrs. O. R. (Bobbie Jo Allen and Mrs. J. R. (Reta) Tacker, both of Tyler; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Johnson of Lott and Mrs. Ora Griffin of Arlington; six brothers, Otis Fikes of Dallas, Hardy Fikes of Corpus Christi, Alvin Fikes of 3712 Parrish Street, Waco, Arthur Fikes of Temple, Grady Fikes of Cameron and Douglas Fikes of 3216 North Twenty-second Street, Waco; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
