ELWOOD ADAMS
A. Elwood Adams, 83, a resident of Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, died Tuesday, July 1, in Indianapolis.
Born in Rosedale, he was the son of Daniel and Maggie Carrithers Adams. He was a retired school teacher. There are no known survivors.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday at Rosedale Cemetery with Rosedale Masonic Lodge 259 officiating. Cottrell Funeral Home of Rosedale was in charge of arrangements.
A 1986 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, Dr. A. Elwood Adams earned his bachelors degree at Indiana State Normal School in 1927. Adams had a notable 44-year career in education as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. In 1982, Adams and his wife, Juneth, established the A. Elwood and Juneth S. Adams Endowment Fund to benefit the College of Education.
