Darwin Cody served in the 1st Ohio Light Artillery as Quartermaster Sgt. during the Civil War.In the 1880's,Cody served as vice president of the Michigan Trust Company.He also owned the Cody Hotel at Fulton & Divison Streets in Grand Rapids and was the first cousin of famous western figure,Buffalo Bill Cody.After his retirement in October of 1911,he moved back to his hometown of Cleveland.
