Mrs. Dorcas Dent, whose death we announced last week, lived to the good old age of 71 years. She was born in Pennsylvania, Sept. 19, 1799. Soon after her birth, her parents moved to Maryland where she remained until 1815, when she moved with her parents to Virginia, and was married to James Dent, Feb. 10, 1820. In the fall of 1834 she moved with her family to Illinois, and settled in Putnam county, where she lived and died. She was the mother of 11 children, seven of whom are still living, among whom is Major B. Dent of Arkansas. She was a kind mother, accomodating neighbor, who will live long in the affections of her neighbors.
