Miss Olena Smithey Buried Here Yesterday
Interment rites for Miss Olena Smithey, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cal Smithey, Oklahoma City, were conducted in Green Hill cemetery yesterday afternoon.
Miss Smithey died in an Oklahoma city hospital from injuries received in a wreck four miles east of Pauls Valley on state highway 19, Saturday night.
In the wreck Mrs. Jewel Perry, 26, of Oklahoma city was instantly killed. The car is said to have got out of control when it hit a rough stretch at the foot of a hill, overturning several times and landing in a canyon 50 feet deep.
Three others in the car sustained cuts and bruises. The group had been to the rodeo at Davis and were enroute home.
The Smitheys formerly lived in Davis, but have resided in Oklahoma City the past few years.
