Black Canyon City--Graveside services for Frank M. Avis Jr., 72, who died Sunday in his home here, will be in the Black Canyon City Cemetery, Memory Chapel announced.
Mr. Avis had been a rancher and homesteader in the New River area since 1933. Prior to that he had owned and operated the Avis Garage in Glendale for four years. He was a former member of the American Legion, First Christian Church in Glendale, a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Black Canyon City and was a Navy veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, and three daughters, Mrs. Bob Gilbreath of Glendale, Mrs. Alvin Lann of Williams and Mrs. Gary Essary of Bagdad.
