(bio by noname) Fleming was reared in Campbell County. He attended the University of Virginia and studied law. He moved to Handsboro, Harrison County, Mississippi and was unmarried. CAPTAIN CO E ( THE ADAMS RIFLES, ) 20th MISSISSIPPI, May 20, 1861. "Gallant and Couteous." COLONEL 38th MISSISSIPPI, May 12, 1862. Injured on the field at IUKA. RESIGNED September 24, 1862, due to his injuries and requested an appointment in the Quarter Master Department. Lawyer in Breham, Texas, Postwar. Died of yellow fever and was buried in Masonic Cemetery, Brenham.
