Printed in the Dickson Herald:
Two separate wrecks occurred over the weekend, killing two and injuring two.

The first wreck occurred just after midnight Saturday in Dickson just off Highway 48. Justin Boldus, 19, was driving a 1995 Honda Civic along with two passengers, his brother Dylan Boldus, 16, and friend, Michael Hugel, 21, when he lost control of the vehicle, struck an embankment and rolled several times before striking a concrete column.

Hugel was killed as a result of the accident. Both Boldus siblings were injured. No one in the vehicle was wearing a safety belt, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.

Boldus tested positive for alcohol. Criminal charges following the accident are pending, according to THP Trooper Richard Austin.

The second wreck occurred about 9 p.m. Sunday night in Charlotte on Highway 49. Donald Thomas, 29, was driving a 1999 Mazda when he ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then hit a pole. He was killed as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck, according to a THP report.

Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Austin, who said the seatbelt could have saved his life.
