LOCAL MATTERS.
Mrs. John Bassil [sic] dead. After a short illness, Mrs. Bassil [sic] died on Tuesday of this week. This is quite a sad occurrence as it leaves Mr. Bassil [sic] with three motherless children, one not yet a year old.

LOCAL MATTERS.
The death of Mrs. John Bassil [sic], which occurred two weeks ago was very distressing, not only on husband, but also on her many relatives and friends living here, and especially on her aged parents. Mrs. Bassil [sic] was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Saunders [sic], living in the northeast part of town. Jennie, the now deceased, was born in Franklin county, Pa., in 1853, and was married to her present mourning husband in 1881 in Wilson, having moved to Kansas in 1880. The deceased leaves three children, all boys, and the youngest only a baby, to feel the loss of a kind and indulgent mother, who was well thought of as a christian lady having been a member of the United Brethren church in Pennsylvania, to which she adhered until her death.
