The stone has his birth year as 1786; however, his birth record can be found both in Dracut MA, as well as his War of 1812 pension record (with d/m/y all the same). It is possible that his surviving children did not know his exact birth year when the stone was prepared. He cannot be found in the 1850 or 1860 census (thus far). Perhaps an estrangement or other reason where his grown children did not see their father much in the last decades of his life? Wife Sarah is with her son in 1850, Samuel no where to be found.
