Elizabeth M. Fordyce, daughter of John W. and Sarah Fordyce, was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania, January 22, 1842, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Burnham of Shepherd, Michigan, February 28, 1925, aged 83 years.
She was united in marriage to Morris Pethtel in April, 1866. To this union were born six children of whom four are left to mourn their loss: Mrs. William (Nora) Burnham of Shepherd, Thomas N. (Martha) Pethtel, of Coe, Myrtle Woods of Belvedere, Kansas, and Mrs. Harry (Nellie A.) Baldwin of Flint. Charles and Earlie died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death January 4, 1880. She leaves two brothers, Solomon H. Fordyce and W. S. Fordyce of Shepherd, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
