Edward K. Sparks Sr., 70, of 1 Morias Ave., died Wednesday in Underwood Hospital, Woodbury, after a lengthy illness.
He had been employed as a dredge operator with the New Jersey Silica Sand Co. before retiring in 1968. Mr. Sparks was a member of the Center Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie (Peacock) Sparks; 2 sons, Edward Jr., LaVergne, Tenn., and Howard, Vineland; a daughter, Mildred Flagg, Gibbstown; a brother, Raymond, Center Grove; 3 sisters, Mildred Sheppard, Esther Henderson and Beatrice, all of Vineland.
The Rev. Stanley Stanton of Center Grove Methodist Church will conduct services at the Christy Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Center Grove Cemetery.
