Hold Services for Richard O. Fickle
Richard O. Fickle, 32, a native of Farmer and a World War II veteran discharged in February after three years in the service, died Wednesday morning in Cameron Hospital of peritonitis, following an operation for appendicitis. He was an employee of the Bryan Sewage Disposal Plant, and was residing at Stryker.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Fickle, southeast of Bryan; a sister, Mrs. Dale Brown, Mark Center, and a brother Lysle Fickle, Mount Vernon, O.
Services were held Saturday afternoon at Union Church west of Evansport, with Rev. Harry Flickinger, of Hillsdale, Mich., officiating. Burial was in Boynton Cemetery.

A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral of Richard Fickle at Union Church near Stryker last week. Richard was a native of Farmer as was his father, Claude Fickle, and the family had spent a greater part of their life in and near the village. He came through the war with battle scars only to meet death by peritonitis before many months had elapsed. He leaves, besides his parents, his wife, a sister, Mrs. Dale Brown and brother Loyal.
