FRANCIS A. BABBITT
FRANCIS A. BABBITT, 86, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, in Fort Wayne. Born July 22, 1923, in Erie, Pa., he was the son of the late Arthur and Ruth Babbitt. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Utica. A resident of Fort Wayne since 1960, he at that time established Babbitt & Son, a painting contractor business. He was a member of American Legion Post 47 and V.F.W. South Anthony Post. Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Loretta; two sons, Richard and Ronald; one brother, Eugene; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four nieces. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial to follow service in Covington Memorial Gardens.
