Betty Jean Malone Died March 2, 2011. Betty Jean Malone, age 79, of Cherokee, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2011. Visitation will be 10:00am until 12:00pm Friday March 4, 2011 at Harris Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Friday at Harris Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Davis and Bro. Chuck Bradford officiating. Burial will be at Harris Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Malone was a member at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, where she had served God her entire life. Preceding her in death her loving husband of 52 years Spencer Ray Malone; sister, Hazel Sanderson, and her parents, Ebra Thompson, Lillie Thompson. She is survived by two sons: Phillip Malone and wife Cathy of Killen, Randy Malone and wife Teresa of Cherokee; three grandchildren: Matthew Malone and wife Emily of Indianapolis, IN, Ashley Whitaker and husband Jeffery of Tuscumbia, Leah Malone of Cherokee; two brothers: Charles Thompson and wife Marie, Bobby Thompson and wife Nelda of Cherokee; numerous nieces, nephews, special friends and her church family. Pallbearers will be Larry Sanderson, Jerry Sanderson, Jeffery Whitaker, Steven Thompson, Lance Thompson, and Jimmy Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Andre Taylor and Albert Wallace, Jr. The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Andre Taylor, Shoals Hospital fourth floor nurses and Cathy Lambert for their help. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Harris Chapel Cemetery Fund. Morrison Funeral Home of Cherokee will be directing.
