Elynn Norma Davidson was born August 8, 1962 in Charles City, Iowa to Irving and Elaine (Mitchell) Davidson. She attended Charles City Community Schools, graduating in 1980. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. She received her LPN degree in 1993. In 1999 she graduated with a BS in Nursing from the University of Iowa.

Elynn worked in Iowa and California as a psychiatric nurse. She was a devoted advocate for her patients' rights and dignity.

Elynn's father, Irving, died in 1988. She is survived by her mother, Elaine of San Diego; a son, Todd (Danielle) Davidson of Gardena, California; two sisters, Noreen (James) Shirk of San Diego and Ione (Mathieu) Jazbinschek of Vancouver, Washington; and a brother, Michael Davidson of Charles City, Iowa. She had three nieces and one nephew, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her family and her faith were a comfort as she suffered through a long illness.
