Leland Revere Askins
Lawrence-Leland Revere Askins, 73, Lawrence died Aug. 28, at a Lawrence hospital.
Mr. Askins was a retired postal clerk.
He was born April 18, 1911, at Hammond, Ill., the son of Walter and Margaret Crowder Askins. He moved from Zephyr Hills, Fla., to Lawrence in May 1984.
Mr. Askins was a member of the Railway Mail Clerks Association.
His wife, Mrs. Bernice M. Sullivan, died in 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Janet Louise Jackson, Lawrence; a son, Leon Askins, Decatur, Ill.; a brother, Lynn D. Askins, Miami shores, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Inurnment is pending in Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, Ill. Rumsey Funeral Home is in charge of Lawrence arrangements.
