Visitation set today for Melvin W. Haney, 72
Melvin W. Haney, 72, of Mountain Home, died Sunday (Nov. 11, 1990) at the McClellan Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy J. Carney and the Rev. Don Reed officiating. Visitation is today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., and burial will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Haney was a lifetime area resident. He was born on March 18, 1918, at Cartney and was a carpenter for the U.S. Army Corps of engineers. He married Hazel V. Cooper Haney on June 20, 1964, at Reno, Nev., and was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church. he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
he was preceded in death by his parents, William S. and Bertha Smith Haney, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Haney of the home; three sons, Doyce, Benny and Clifford Haney, all of Mountain home; four daughters, Jean Flippin of Overland Park, Kan., Helen Gallegos of Littleton, Colo., Elloise Haney of Mountain home and Jo Ann Dewey of Cotter; one brother, Roy Haney of Mountain Home; two sisters, Novella Martin of Gassville and Virginia Uthe of Presho, S.D.
Memorials may be made to the Mountain Home Baptist Church.
