Charlotte was the daughter of Charles Merritt & Lydia Mae Raab Brooker, first wife of Willard Andrew Sallas, Stuart, Florida, and mother of Lydia Mae Sallas Redding and Charlotte Beatrice Sallas Brady; grandmother of Lydia Dianne Houston/Redding Rogers, Bonnie Lee Brady Hamer and Melissa Charlotte Brady Decker. Willard Sallas died on June 2, 1950, the 6th birthday of granddaughter Lydia Dianne; Charlotte died on Lydia Dianne's 36th birthday. Charlotte met her second husband, Alexander H. Ford, on a train while traveling to New York during WWII to visit her cousin, and it was love at first sight. They married and spent the rest of their lives in Norfolk, Virginia.
