WEST POINT - Annie Lou Crosswhite Carter, 92, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. She was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Tupelo to the late Ida B. Huffman Crosswhite and Mealer Clark Crosswhite. She was a seamstress for Knickbocker Manufacturing and Burris Manufacturing for 30 years. While a resident of West Point, she was a member of Hwy. 45 Church of Christ. She married Millard Clifton Carter on Oct. 19, 1934, in Nettleton; he preceded her in death on May 6, 1970.

Services were Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Minister Hoyt Hathcock officiating. Burial was in West Point Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Runez Carter Downs (Lon) of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Cindy Owen of Nashville; one sister, Arlene Baker of Meridian.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Janet "Baby Sis" Carter; a sister, Dessie Haase; and six brothers, Joe T., Granville, Howard, Russell, Charles and Spencer Crosswhite.

Pallbearers were Doug Johnson, Ronald Joe Crosswhite, Wayne Crosswhite, O.J. Jones, Johnny Harold Lawson and Randy Assink.

Honorary pallbearers were L.D. Brewer, William L. Allen, Burt Nix, Rupert Staten, Joe Jackson, Neal Smith and George Knox.
