DUCHESNE -- James Gilbert Ivie, 86, died in a Heber hospital Tuesday after a long illness.

Born Nov. 3, 1876, Scipio, Millard County, to Hyrum Lewis and Esther Robblns Ivie. Married Julia Maria Myler Dec. 17, 1896, Heber. Marriage later solemnized Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died July 11, 1933. Resided Heber, moved to Strawberry, near Duchesne, 1905, when Uintah Basin was opened for settlement. Sheepman and rancher.

Survivors: sons, daughters, Mrs. Ervan (Ethel) Clegg, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Herbert (Alice) Firth, Raleigh, both Duchesne; Dale, Kearns; Mrs. R. R. (Jullaette) Balr, Price; Mrs. Manford (LaPreal Campbell, Bountiful; stepson, Clarence Baum, Duchesne; 41 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Pearl Mecham, Midvale.

Funeral Friday, 1 p.m., Duchesne LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call Olpin Moriuary, Roosevelt.. Thursday evening Place of services. Friday after 11:30 a.m. Burial, Strawberry Cemetery.
