Mother of 3 - Alice Viletta (Lowther), Thelma (Jones) and Mary Catherine (Preston).
As the wife of Milroy Fogle, she did all her cooking on a wood stove and helped on the farm with chores such as gathering eggs, milking the cows & making butter.
She had epilepsy all her life which she controlled with medication.
Truly a talent, she played a harmonica and was an avid writer of poetry. While a resident of the Muskingham County Home, she was presented with a book of her poetry, "Reflections of My Life", by Ms. Kay Gadd, a Bible Study Teacher at the home. Ms Gadd and her daughter Kris collected her poems and had an artist, Lori Drexler, compile a drawing related to each poem. Ms. Gadd stated the book was made and presented to Lulu "out of love and appreciation for her talent as a gifted writer".
Her name is listed in many places as Lulu May, yet my mother told me that her name was spelled Lula Mae. She is my maternal great grandmother. I only met her once, and my only memory of her is of eating her homemade sugar cookies. A nice memeory, but I wish I could have known her.
