Son of Robert Cole and Mary Ann Tran, Robert was brought up by his grandpartents from the age of five. He married Elma Elizabeth Hawkins, daughter of Nelson Hawkins and Susan Emily Cornell 16 Aug 1899 at Goodwood, Ontario and together they had eight children. Robert invented the first snow blower.
