Mrs. Felicitas Alicia "Licha" Bennett 73 years young went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday August 14, 2009, surrounded by her children and loved ones. Licha was born June 2, 1936 in Ecleto, Texas to Carlos Fuentes and Pabla Lopez Fuentes. She married James Tandy Bennett on July 10, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas, He preceded her to Heaven on April 2, 2009. Mrs. Bennett was a stay at home mother until her children all were in school at which time she entered the workforce as a cook with the Northside ISD in San Antonio. She worked as a dietician and became well known as Miss Alice, with Kerper Halfway House for many years, mentoring and Ministering to many prisoners as they readjusted to life out of prison. She was a Sunday School Teacher for 30 years and loved by all who knew her. Survivors include 3 daughters and son in laws; Betty Stuart of San Antonio, Peggy and Bob Baker of Orlando, Florida, Sharon Brown and Tommy Pritt Of San Antonio, 4 sons and daughter in law; James Tandy II and Cheryl Bennett of San Antonio, Jack Tracy Bennett and Laura Dragoo of San Antonio, Phillip Eugene Bennett of Chicago, Illinois, and Rev. Wm. Patrick Bennett of Coleman, Texas, sister Delia Belmarez of San Antonio, brother David Fuentes of California, 19 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and best friend Janita Pummer of San Antonio. Licha was preceded in death by her Husband of 55 years, James, Parents, sister Julia, brothers Celso, and Carlos, and brother in law Fidel. Visitation will be held at Southside Church of God, 406 Boswell San Antonio on Monday August 17 from 6:00 til 8:00 P.M. with Service to be at at Southside Church of God Tuesday August 18 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Wm. Patrick Bennett and Rev. David Hacker co-officiating. Interment will be at in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. under the direction of Rev. Wm. Patrick Bennett and Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.
