Carpenter...a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church...will be held 8 am, Friday, May 21, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father David Bellinghausen officiating at the Mass.The body was cremated. Local arrangements are under the direction ofHardwicke Funeral Services. Mrs. Carpenter, aged 70, died April 20, 1993 at her home in Clarksville."
Mary was the daughter of Lawrence Virgil Kidwell,Sr and Mary Floya Mabel Greenwell. She was married to 1. Jack Allen Presnell, (with whom she had 2 children: Patricia Ellen Presnell and Thomas Allen Presnell), 2.Walter Irvin McAdams and 3.Hollis Richard Carpenter.
She had 7 brothers and sisters: Marjorie Ellen, Lawrence Elmer,Thomas Willard,James H.,Beatrice Susan,Patricia Ann and Lawrence Virgil Kidwell,Jr. Mary was the last survivor of her siblings and parents.
During WWII, she worked for R. J. Ransbergs & Co. Industries in Indianapolis,Indiana painting decorative items such as cannisters, bed trays, lamps, etc.
Retired from the Burglar Alarm business (American Burglar Alarm)
After retiring,she worked part time as a volunteer "Pink Lady" for the hospital auxillaries
Talented in painting, crocheting,and cooking.
Loved to go to yard sales and flea markets.
Loved playing cards (Euchre was her favorite)
Enjoyed the beach.
Loved Chocolate
She died on her mother's birthday. There had been no indication of any major problems before hand. She died in her sleep, still sitting in her rocker recliner. Her son Tom had come that morning to mow her lawn and found her in her chair.
