Gilbert M. Heus, age 78, of Marytown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 7, at his home.
He was born May 22, 1909 at Marytown, a son of the late Paul and Lora Lefeber Heus and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School, Marytown. He married Veronica Krupp at St. Anna, on Nov. 22, 1933.

The couple farmed in the Marytown area until retiring in 1972. He formerly served as a supervisor of the Town of Calumet Board. The couple celebrated their golden anniversary in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marytown and of the Holy Name Society of the church.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Delores) Buechel, Mrs. Allen (Rita) Klotz, both of New Holstein; Mrs. Ken (Joan) Clark, Springfield, MO; one son, James (Lori) of Marytown, 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Winkel, Kiel; Mrs. Alden (Gertrude) Gross, St. Anna; two brothers, Edward of New Holstein and Clifford of St. Anna.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marytown. Rev. David Christel of Chilton officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
