__Roy E. Hall, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 4 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Jim Goodrich, with military honors. Visitation will be one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
__Survivors include his longtime companion, Florence Constable; his children, Dwayne (Catherine) Hall and Kris Klimek; grandchildren, Jason Hall, Douglas Hall and Karen Hall-Chlebicki; and great-grandchildren, Scott, Amber, Kaylee and Connor.
__Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; five sisters and four brothers.
__Roy was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Wellsboro, Ind., the son of George and Gertrude (Miller) Hall. He married Carol Hensley. She died in 1981. Roy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Harnischfeger.
__Roy was a member of First Baptist Church-Church of the Brethren for 15 years and was a past member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was also a member of Machinist Local 831, American Legion Post 298, Elks Club and VFW.
