Funeral arrangements for Elmer Kirby, Columbus, Ga., former Decatur resident are to be announced later. Mr. Kirby died suddenly Thursday night of a heart attack. Body is to be returned to Decatur tonight.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cleesa Kirby; two sons, Allen and Jack Kirby, both of Columbus; his father, A. M. Kirby, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. George Yancey, Tanner 1, Mrs. Erby Eddy, Danville 3, Mrs. Hubert Crow, Decatur; and two brothers, James Kirby, Decatur, and Freeman Kirby, Hartselle 4.

Elmer Kirby Rites This Afternoon Johnson Chapel
The Rev. Eaton Stephenson and the Rev. I. N. Eddy are to conduct funeral services this afternoon at 3 at Johnson Chapel Church for Elmer Kirby, 46, Phenix City, former Decatur resident.
Mr. Kirby died suddenly Thursday of a heart attack at his home in Phenix City. Body arrived in Decatur Saturday and is now at the home of a sister, Mrs. Hubert Crow, 1114 4th Avenue SE. Funeral cortege is to leave the Crow residence this afternoon at 2.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clessie Kirby; two sons, Allen and Jack Kirby, both of Phenix City; his father, A. M. Kirby, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. George Yancey, Tanner, Mrs. Erbie Eddy, Danville, Mrs Crow; two brothers, James, Decatur and Freeman, Hartselle 4.
Brown Funeral Co. is to direct interment in the adjoining cemetery.
