ULCH, Shirley D. Born June 22, 1924, in Wasseon, Ohio. Passed away October 2, 2009, in Newhall, Calif. He grew up in Lansing, Mich. Shirley has lived in the Antelope Valley for 55 years, bringing his family from Michigan to the Antelope Valley in 1954. He was in the U.S. Air Force Catapiller Club, World War II fighter pilot, Antelope Valley Fair Executive Manager for 13 years, 33 Degree Mason, Shriner Elks Member, Rotary International member, lifetime Eastern Star Member.
He worked for the State of California as a Administrator. He enjoyed flying, golfing, travel, hunting and fishing. Shirley is survived by his wife of 63 years Donna Mary Ulch, son Bryan Dee Ulch of Newhall, Calif., grandchildren Jordan Michael Ulch of Newhall, Calif., and Dax Lee Ulch of Modesto, Calif. Also survived by brothers: Deke Ulch, Norman Ulch, Charles Ulch all of Harrison, Mich., sister Bonnie Shue of Lakeland, Fla. He is preceded in death by his son Bruce Lee Ulch. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, CA 93535. All guests attending funeral are invited to join the family at the Lancaster Masonic Temple following interment, located at 44702 Cedar Ave, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Shriners.
As a brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend,
he will be missed. He added so much to all of our lives.
