Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, will follow in Lambert Cemetery.
Mr. Bowers was born Feb. 12, 1934, in Georgetown County, a son of Henry Bowers and Mary Thomas Bowers Lee Lambert. He was a millwright construction worker. He was educated in the Georgetown County school system, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attended St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ora Bee Tilton Bowers of Georgetown; a son, Tony Bowers of Andrews; two daughters, Carolyn Lockliear of Trio and Marilyn Gibson of Andrews; four step-sons, Frank Moon of Hemingway, Don Moon of Taylor, Johnny Moon of Johnsonville and Billy Joe Moon of Suttons; one brother, Alton Bowers, of Andrews; one half brother, Carlos Lee, of Andrews; two half sisters, Libby Reaves of Moncks Corner and Judy Moore of Georgetown; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
