Aradile--Arte / Artie / Arte Belle /Artie L?--all the different census names and the family name is Artie. Tombstone of George Escho Clancy gives A.L. as initials. Not sure of her middle name.

Artie MOSS CLANCY was the daughter of James B MOSS and Mary PENNINGTON. By the 1870 census, at the age of 15, she was married to James KP CLANCY. She had the following children:

1. Martha Jane Clancy b: 28 APR 1872
2. Cloe A Clancy b: ABT 1876-died young
3. Lonzy Everette Clancy b: 28 AUG 1878
4. Eddie Marlin Clancy b: 4 FEB 1881
5. Jasper Harlan Clancy b: 4 FEB 1881
6. George Escho Clancy b: 24 SEP 1883 d: 4 JUL 1893

George Escho is Artie's youngest who died in Wise Co, TX on July 4, 1893.

We have been told that she is buried on a farm near Tompkinsville, Monroe Co, KY, where she took ill and died. I have reason to believe that this farm is the old George Washington aka Wash farm that was sold to his son after the death of his wife Lucinda J/Cynthia SMITH Clancy who was also buried on the farm at her death in 1859.

Her date of death would have been sometime after the birth of her last child 1883 and 1890-1891 with the remarriage of her husband James KP Clancy to Helen Virginia Watson of Tompkinsville, Monroe Co, Kentucky. There is no BETWEEN option on Findagrave unfortunately.

Her oldest son, Lonzy, named one of his daughters Artie in memory of her.

I wish someone in the family had passed down the whereabouts of her burial place exactly in the family.
