Commissioned second lieutenant, November 30, 1861, with rank from October 26, original; first lieutenant, December 18, 1862, with rank from September 3, 1862, vice W. L. Stanford promoted; captain, January 16, 1864, with rank from November 20, 1863, vice A. T. Corning resigned; again commissioned, not mustered, captain, July 13, 1865, with rank from June 1, 1865, original.
