Ruth M. Stoll, 93, of Monon, died at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, after a short illness.

She was born in Jasper County, Indiana to the late Edward and Elsie Strong Elston. On March 5, 1938, she married Andrew J. Stoll. He died Sept. 18, 1987.

Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Kruger (husband: Gerald) of Francesville, Doris Madsen of San Pierre, Indiana, Jan Smith (husband: Paul) of Winamac and Barbara Willis of Nashville, Indiana; a sister, Patricia Kocher (husband: John) of Lowell; three brothers, Carl Elston (wife: Tish) of St. Petersburg, Florida, William Elston (wife: Dora) of West Lafayette and Forrest Elston of El Paso, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Betty Elston of LaPorte.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard D. Stoll and 6 brothers, Ronald, Francis, Jerry, Orland, Marvin and Arnold Elston.
