Born in Chicago to the late Aaron and Sadie (nee Horowitz) Alperstein, he was a resident of Morris since 1989, relocating to Crest Hill in 2001. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Employed as manager for Binny's Beverage in River Grove since 1989. Surviving are his loving wife, Alice (nee Johnson) Alperstein of Crest Hill; his son, Greg (Kristina) Alperstein of Frisco, TX; two grandchildren, Evan and Emily Alperstein; stepchildren, Terry Strong of Crest Hill and Lori (Michael) Poore of Oswego; step-grandchildren, Alex and Jillian Strong; Ryan and Elizabeth Poore; four sisters, Lila (late Fred) Syre, Ann (Marty) Cohn, Jeri (Lem) Duran and Bonnie (Nick) Wink; one brother, Ken Alperstein; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by one son, Todd Alperstein; and his parents. Funeral Services for Gary L. Alperstein will be Monday, October 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.
