Reuben A. Andersen was born on March 19, 1909 at Arapahoe, Nebraska, in Furnas County. At the age of 8 years he came to Hamilton County with his parents. He attended rural schools in Hamilton County.
On November 12, 1932 he was married to Annie Rasmussen at Norton, Kansas. They farmed two years in Furnas County, then returned to Hamilton County.
He worked at various jobs until 1941, when he became a road patrol operator for the county for 11 years. He returned to farming until his retirement in 1974. They moved to Marquette following retirement.
Reuben was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg.
Four sons were born to Reuben and Annie: Robert of Moorhead, Minnesota, Roger of Aurora and Ronald and Raymond both of Marquette.
He is survived by his widow, four sons and daughters-in-law and 11 grandchildren; brother, Ingvard of Roseville, California; three sisters, Dagmar Andersen and Thyra Rasmussen both of Aurora and Olga Wolff of Solvang, California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
His death occurred on Friday, December 22, 1978 at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 3 days.
