He was the son of Nancy Pugh Doerr of Denham Springs, La., and Howard William Doerr Sr., and the brother of Katherine Anne Doerr Grace of Texas and the late Jean Doerr Davis, formerly of Baton Rouge.
He graduated from Denham Springs High School and was inducted into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., where he was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away.
