Charles Harrison Hicks, 82, of Dante, Va., died Thursday of last week in Bristol Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viney Hicks; five daughters, Mrs. Bonnie [May] Morefield, Grundy, Va., Mrs. Arnold Harris, Noel, Mo., Mrs. Jake Booker, Dante, and Mrs. Thurman [Hattie E.] Clark and Mrs. Sherman Fields, both of Rockford, Ill.; two brothers [William] Thomas Hicks and Andrew [Jackson] Hicks, both of Bristol; three sister, Mrs. [Tina] Tiney [Catherine] Daner, Johnson City, Tenn., Mrs. [Susan Emmaline] Emma Pless, Bluff City, Tenn., and Mrs. Bessie [Elvira] Meyers[sic], Fossel[sic], Ore.; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Freewill Baptist Church, Dante, Va., with the Rev. J. T. Hartsock and the Rev. Emory Cook officiating. Burial was in Temple Hill Cemetery.
