BERNARD "Bernie" DOLESHEL
Born April 5, 1928 in Everett, Washington, died on January 15, 2006 in San Jose. Beloved husband of Winnie Doleshel, loving father of Warren Doleshel of San Jose, brother of Bob Doleshel of Everett, WA, Ray Doleshel of Arcadia, CA and the late Frank Doleshel of Santa Clara. Devoted grandfather to Keith and Craig Doleshel of San Jose. A former baseball star at Marysville High (WA). US Army veteran (Philippine Islands, Okinawa, and Japan 1946-1948). Santa Clara Police Officer 1951-1985, retired as a lieutenant. During his career he worked with the FBI, Secret Service, Treasury Department, Postal Inspectors, and almost all local police agencies. Named Police Officer of the Year by the VFW in 1979. After retirement from the SCPD, worked internal security at Great America. An excellent golfer, he also had a love of flight, military history, country music, especially the music of Johnny Cash, and enjoyed attending San Francisco 49ers football games. Interment Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
