Funeral services for James "Joel" Hugh Plumlee were held Saturday at the Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Hartin officiating. He was born in Berryville, Arkansas, on May 4, 1895, and moved to Oklahoma in 1908 with his parents, Francis Marion and Hulda Jane (Goforth) Plumlee. He lived in the vicinity of Newcastle, OK, and had lived the past 20 years in Oklahoma City, OK. He was ill only a few days before passing away in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He married Ora Dixon and they had 3 girls, Mrs. Myrtle Payne of California, Mrs. Ethel Wilson and Mrs. Imogene Brotherton of Oklahoma City; also 1 son, Bill Plumlee.

He leaves his father and mother, 5 brothers; Pat of Noble, Roy of Newcastle, Calvin "C.P.", Jess, and Ray of Tuttle, and 2 sisters; Mrs. Bliss Hestand of Watonga and Mrs. Cloe Basinger of Tuttle.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery of Tuttle under the direction of Hunter Funeral Home.
