Nina Lucille Orange of Staunton, and formerly of Waynesboro, died early Saturday, October 10, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Nelson County.

Nina was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church, the Waynesboro Moose Lodge Auxiliary, and the Eagle Aerie Auxiliary in Fishersville. She had retired as a special education teacher for the Augusta County Schools.

In addition to her parents, Ronald H. and Willie Lucille Merriam, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. "Jim" Orange, in 1996.

Surviving are her daughter, Sondra Lucille "Sandy" Sollinger of Waynesboro; her son, Ronald Edward "Eddie" Orange and his wife, Kim, of Fredericksburg; two grandsons that she raised, J.J. and Joey Sollinger; three other grandchildren, Robbie, Ryan, and Renee Orange; two sisters, Leone "Midge" Brown of Waynesboro, and Arlene Marino of Staunton; a brother, Edward McGann of Arizona; two great- grandchildren, Madison and Gabriel Sollinger; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at McDow Funeral Home by Pastor Billy Coffey. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
