Richard Alan Hancock, age 48, of Brighton, passed away suddenly in his home, Friday, October 9, 2009. He was born March 11, 1961, in Berkeley, California, the son of Alan Earl and Darlene (Campbell) Hancock. Richard was a heavy equipment operator and had been an over the road truck driver in the past. He loved his family and enjoyed motorcycle riding with his sons, horse back riding and his farm. He was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Debi; two sons, Zachary Hancock and wife, Cassandra, Oceanside, California, and Samuel Hancock and wife, Irene, Springfield, Missouri; a granddaughter, Christine; his mother, Darlene Hancock, Nixa, Missouri; a brother, David Hancock and wife, Linda, Trimble, Missouri; a sister, Vicky Vernile and husband Joseph, Manchester, New Hampshire; and two step-children, Timothy Morris and wife, Debi, Republic, Missouri, and Peggy Lucas, Springfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Tim Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery, Ozark. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
