John R. White of Arthur City died Sunday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bennie Lee at 789-4th NW after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Powderly. The pastor, the Rev. Roscoe Nunley, will officiate. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery under the arrangement of Maxey Funeral Home.
Mr. White was born April 8, 1882 near Waterford, MS., the son of the late John Henry and Vinnie Burns White. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Bennie Lee of Paris; two step daughters, Mrs. Birdie Lee Franklin of Los Angeles, CA. and Mrs. Lucille Odia? of Amarillo; one sister, Mrs. Rozena Ladell of Oklahoma City, OK.; three grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
