Last Rites for Pearl I. Miller were held Thursday, December 7 at the Trinity United Methodist Church with the service being conducted by Rev. Charles Pence. Mrs. Sammy Houth, soloist sang "Until We Meet Again" and "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" accompanied with Mrs. W. B. Stout, Jr., organist. Pallbearers were A. C. Dines, Eddie Young, Dwayne Rice, Chuck McIntire, Andy Dines and Lloyd Jolliffe. Interment was in White Oak Cemetery under the direction of Eckhoff Funeral Home. Pearl Irene, oldest daughter of Charles E. and Maye McIntire, was born June 25, 1918 and departed this life Dec. 4, 1972, at the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 9 days at the Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler, Mo. Death was attributed to cancer and although she suffered constantly and she bored the affliction bravely with very little complaint. On July 20, 1937 she was united in marriage to Lorin A. Miller and to this union four children were born. One son, Lorin Jr., died at the age of 2 1/2 years. "Pearl" or "Sally", as she was called was a loving wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. Her life was centered around her home and she always was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Two sisters, Ruth and Mary preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Lorin, of the home, 2 daughters, Donna Kay also of the home, Bettie Jean Wareham, Appleton City, one son, James Lee, also of Appleton City, her parents, Charles and Mae McIntire of El Dorado Springs, five sisters, Maudie Jones, Osceola, Zella Jolliffe, Dessa Rice, Darlene Hearting, all of Appleton City, Janie Reasoner, Kansas City, four brothers, Charles McIntire of Oakridge, Oregon, Lee Roy McIntire of Milo, Mo., Clifford McIntire, Jefferson City, James Alvin McIntire, Buckner, eight grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, a son-in-law Donald Wareham, a daughter-in-law, Sharon Miller, and a host of other relatives and friends.
