A former Wayland Baptist University volleyball player, Ashleah D. Richards, 21, of Portales, N.M., was killed after the 2006 Nissan Xterra she was driving was struck head on by a pickup truck that was going the wrong way about 3:50 a.m. on I-27.

Ashleah lost her life due to someone who decided to drink and drive. We lost a beautiful soul, while heaven gained a beautiful angel. Ashleah, you are missed everyday love. By people who knew and loved you, and people you never even met.
